11th Artel, Moscow, 1908-1917
of flared rectangular form, decorated with foliate sprays and geometric designs, the pierced swing handles with flowerhead and dot motifs, the hinged cover enamelled en-plein with ‘The Unveiling of the Bride’ after Konstantin Egorovich Makovsky, the border with green twist stems and flower heads, flanked by formal floral friezes, swing clasp; the interior of the lid with translucent turquoise guilloche enamel over wavy engine-turning
