The firm of Koch was one of Germany's leading jewellers. Robert Koch established the firm in 1879 at 6 Biebergasse in Frankfurt and subsequentlyrelocated twice to accommodate his growing business. Koch was commissioned by many princely houses in Germany as well as the Kaiser. His reputation grew internationally, for example, supplying a necklace to Princess Margaret of Connaught (1882-1920) Princess of Sweden and Duchess of Scania.
