Biography: Sully was a Manchester artist whose early work followed traditional conventions. Latterly influenced by the Russian Constuctivists and Naum Gabo his work became increasing abstract and similar to other British Surrealists such as John Tunnard. His unusual technique utilised layers of painted plaster to create depth and a real sense of three dimensions.
